Mezzo soprano Elizabeth Buckley releases debut album

Elizabeth Buckley announces the release of her début album, “Must the Winter Come So Soon?” Featuring pianist Dewitt Tipton and Grammy award winning violist, Masumi Per Rostad, of the Pacifica Quartet, the CD features classic and rare mezzo-soprano repertoire ranging from Handel, Purcell and Gluck to Brahms and Barber. Please join indi go Artist Co-op in Champaign, Illinois, on Tuesday, December 13th at 6:30 p.m. for a special evening of music from “Must the Winter Come So Soon?” Dewitt Tipton and Masumi Per Rostad will be performing selections from the album with Elizabeth. Visual artists, Patrick Harness and Jason Bentley along with jewelry maker, Lindsey Snell, and Art Instructor, Ella Brown Dunn, and students from Next Generation will be displaying their works at the event in a show titled, “The Artist’s Process.”

Ticket price is $20 and includes a signed copy of the CD, food and wine from Art Mart, and flowers from Fleurish. A CD signing and dedication to the life of sound engineer Jon Schoenoff will cap off this special evening.

Mezzo-soprano Elizabeth Buckley possesses a voice of unique warmth and clarity. Praised as “a talented actress,” “brilliant and lovely,” “producing high notes with thrilling effect” by John Frayne of the Champaign-Urbana News Gazette, she is equally comfortable in staged roles as well as concert and chamber music. She recently sang her début recital at Carnegie Hall as 2011 First Prize winner of the Barry Alexander International Vocal Competition. Alongside baritone Nathan Gunn, she toured with pianist John Wustman in his Schubert Lieder Recital Series, and has collaborated with numerous musicians and ensembles in recital, oratorio, opera, musical theater, choral performances, and newly commissioned works.
