Sam Post, pianist and composer

Composer and pianist Sam Post has been praised in the Washington Post as a “pianist of drive and intelligence,” and “confident, yet sensitive.” In 2016, Sam was slated to accompany Yo-Yo Ma and Renée Fleming at the Kennedy Center Arts Summit, but so impressed them in rehearsal that they invited him to prelude their collective performance with his improvisation & fugue on the “Over the Rainbow” theme. Subsequently, Mr. Ma recommended him to Michael Tilson Thomas for the above mentioned San Francisco Symphony commission, Sketches from Kazakhstan, which took place in February, 2017. His new CD, Dizzy Days, came out in 2017 and reflects his new love affair with ragtime.
